Island Sotheby's International Realty Agents in Top 100 Realtors for Second Year in a Row

For the second year in a row, two Island Sotheby’s International Realty agents have made it onto Hawaii Business magazine's list of the top 100 real estate agents in the Aloha State.

For more than a decade, Hawaii Business magazine has been creating a list of the state’s most successful agents and companies, which has become the pinnacle of success for Hawaii's real estate professionals. The list named Island Sotheby’s International Realty as the ninth-top company in the state, which closed $340,481,875 in real estate transactions in 2017.

The list also honored several of the firm’s top agents. Island Sotheby’s International Realty agents Courtney Brown R(S) and Wendy Peterson R(S) made the list of the state’s top 100 agents, while agent Debra Merle R(B) earned the title of a distinguished agent.

The three agents sold millions of dollars of real estate last year. Brown, who specializes in the resort areas of Maui, closed 14 transactions that totaled $33.295 million in 2017 including sales from Makena, Kapalua and on the Big Island. From luxury resorts to oceanfront condominiums, Brown has represented the buyers and sellers of some of Maui’s finest properties over the last decade.

Peterson specializes in the lush Upcountry area but works all across the island, closed 10 transactions reaching $24.750 million. A sixth generation rancher, Peterson’s family has lived in the Makawao and Kula areas for generations.

Meanwhile, agent Merle was named a “distinguished agent” after she closed 16 transactions that totaled $22.460 million. Deb got her real estate license in 1979, and has won numerous awards over the years for her exceptional service and productivity.
