The difference between friends & Hawaiian friends

When you live in Hawaii life is definitely at a slower pace and most of us do not have family living here so we build our own family or "ohana".  This is a fun sampling of life in the islands.

There's FRIENDS…then there's "HAWAIIAN FRIENDS"

FRIENDS: Ask what to bring. HAWAIIAN FRIENDS: Always bring food even if you say we don't need to.

FRIENDS: Will say "hello". HAWAIIAN FRIENDS: Will give you a big hug and a kiss
... ... ... ...
FRIENDS: Call your parents Mr. and Mrs. HAWAIIAN FRIENDS: Call your parents’ aunty & uncle or mom & dad

FRIENDS: Have never seen you cry. HAWAIIAN FRIENDS: Cry with you or make you cry

FRIENDS: Will listen and tell you what you want to hear. HAWAIIAN FRIENDS: Will tell you da truth whether you like it o' not AND call you stupid wen you no listen.

FRIENDS: Will eat at your dinner table and leave. HAWAIIAN FRIENDS: Will spend HOURS talking story, laughing, and just being together....THEN help clean-up when all finished.

FRIENDS: Know a few things about you. HAWAIIAN FRIENDS: Can tell you stories for days....with direct quotes.

FRIENDS: Will leave you behind if that's what the crowd is doing. HAWAIIAN FRIENDS: Will kick EVERYBODY'S okoles that left you.

FRIENDS: Would call first then knock on your door. HAWAIIAN FRIENDS: No need call, they jus stop by and walk right in and say...... Hey u ! Like drink?!!

FRIENDS: Get mad when you don't stay in contact HAWAIIAN FRIENDS: Years can go by and we pick up right where we left off like was yesterday

FRIENDS: Come and go. HAWAIIAN FRIENDS: Is Ohana meaning family..

FRIENDS: Goin ignore this. HAWAIIAN FRIENDS: Goin cut n' paste to status to spread "DA ALOHA SPIRIT"
Thanks Bruddah KaLa for sharing this... Love my Hawaiians..
