Island Sotheby’s International Realty is proud to announce that Colleen Medeiros R(S) is one of the newest agents to join the prestigious firm’s growing team.

Colleen has a long history in the Hawaiian Islands. Born and raised in Kailua on Oahu, she grew up playing on the beach and horseback riding in Waimanalo. But her love for Maui began early on, when she would spent summers visiting family in Lahaina.

Colleen brings a breadth of knowledge to her work in Maui real estate. Prior to becoming a Realtor, she studied Equine Science in Montana before switching majors to receive a Bachelors of Science in Sociology and Environmental Studies. After that, she worked in Cultural Resource Management, archaeology, property management, land consulting and planning.

With her vast experience and extensive knowledge of Hawai’i, she is sure to meet all of your real estate needs. We sat down to talk with Colleen about why she chose to join the Island Sotheby's International Realty team:

What's your favorite part about living on Maui?

CM: What I love most about living and raising my family on Maui is the rural lifestyle and small, tightly-knit community we have here. I like the quietness of my community and the simpleness of the activities we do for fun.

Why did you join the Island Sotheby's International Realty team?

CM: I joined the Island Sotheby's International Realty's team for the same reasons I enjoy life on Maui: The brokerage includes a relatively small group of realtors and everyone works closely together in a community driven way. I also respect the level of quality, product and service the Sotheby's brand offers clients.

What inspired you to work in Maui real estate?

CM: Through the years I have developed a passion for architecture, construction and design. I enjoy seeing the different home styles here on Maui and I especially enjoy learning the history of homes and lands.

What is your favorite part about being a real estate professional?

CM: I enjoy the ability to view the spectrum of house designs here on Maui and learn and share the particular details; what makes a home or land special? What's the story behind the place? I simply find it fun researching these details and then sharing them with sellers and buyers. It's exciting going through the process of helping people find the right home for their needs.

What should clients know about you?

CM: My clients should know that I am exceptionally detail oriented, very thorough and focused on them. I will scour the market to find the best fit for buyers and I will find the unique story of a property for marketing listings for sellers. They should also know that I have a good understanding of construction, building codes, zoning codes and particularly, the Historic Preservation guidelines, if they might impact plans for a home or property.
