Island Sotheby's International Realty is proud to announce that Keoni Grundhauser R(S) is one of the newest members to join the globally-recognized firm's team of real estate professionals.

Keoni has a long history in the islands. A fifth-generation Maui resident, he graduated from Seabury Hall and went on to study at Colorado State University before returning home. Prior to joining Island Sotheby's International Realty, he worked as a facilitator for Hawai'i VIP and Makena Wailea Property Services before delving into real estate. When he's not working with clients, you can usually find him outdoors exploring Maui's lush hiking trails or azure waters.

As part of Island Sotheby's International Realty's team, Keoni is committed to meeting all of your real estate needs, whether you're a first-time home buyer or selling a vacation rental. We sat down to talk with him about why he chose our team:

Why did you join the Island Sotheby's International Realty team?

KG:  The scope of the brand's influence, along with its world-class reputation, was the key attraction of becoming part of the Sotheby's brand. As I transition into my career in real estate, I know the company will provide a range of valuable resources to better serve my clients and market properties to a global audience.

What inspired you to work in Maui real estate?

KG: I was inspired to work in real estate because I am passionate about my home. Selling real estate on Maui allows me to represent the places and people I love, and walk other Maui residents through one of the most important decisions of their lives.

What is your favorite part about being a real estate professional?

KG:  My favorite part about working as a real estate professional is that I can use my knowledge of the island to help people find properties that best fit them. There truly isn't a better feeling than knowing that you helped someone work toward their dream of owning a home on Maui.

What's your favorite part about living on Maui?

KG: Absolutely, the weather. I love surfing, hiking, hunting  pretty much anything involving the outdoors. Maui offers me the opportunity to get out and live like no other place on earth. Besides that, it's where my family is — it's home.

What should clients know about you?

KG:  I am born and raised on Maui and am the fifth-generation of my family here. I know Maui extremely well and take a lot of pride in calling it home. If you give me the chance to get to know you, I will no doubt be able to find you the perfect property.
