Born and raised on the island of Maui, Candace Coleman, R(S) grew up amongst the palm trees, cherishing the local lifestyle and enjoying all that the Hawaiian island had to offer. But, this didn’t stop her from traveling throughout the country and world, immersing herself in the flurry of colorful cultures around her.

Candace attended school in Los Angeles and received a degree in Visual Communications. She followed her dreams to San Francisco and there, she dived into Kitchen Design and worked for established companies in both San Francisco and Austin, Texas. She finally swapped the Pacific Ocean for the beautiful lakes and "Greenbelt" when she officially relocated to Austin in 2016.

Candace has easily become a go-to person for her clients when it comes to design and style. Her enthusiasm stems from learning and growing up alongside her mother, a skilled interior designer. Beyond that, her whole family are experienced investors who have always been involved in real estate. With this as her inspiration and source of passion, Candace found herself graduating from The Real Estate Business School!

Whether you need someone to show you your dream Maui home, share her top restaurant and cuisine recommendations, or have someone to go see local live music with, Candace is your person.

What led you to where you are today?

I got my real estate license in Austin since my parents owned investment properties there. I ended up focusing on leasing in the Austin area. It was hard to break into the market there being new to the area and having a very small sphere of influence. I had always toyed with the idea of moving home to Maui eventually. Once Covid hit we decided to pack up our two dogs and make the move home. I started working for a Maui brokerage doing transaction management then after about 7 months I decided to go independent and work mostly with Island Sotheby's International Realty (ISIR)  agents.

What's your favorite part about living in Maui?

Maui is home to me. I was born and raised here on the South Side of Maui. The thing I love most about Maui is the people and the aloha spirit. It's something really unexplainable until you experience it yourself.  For me, I spent 13 years on the mainland and it really showed me that there is no place like home.  Especially after spending 13 years in bustling cities, I'm happy to be on Maui and slow down a bit.

What's one thing you've always wanted to do on Maui but haven't yet?

I guess it's not technically on Maui, but it is Maui county. I have never been to Molokai and it's on my bucket list of places to go.

What inspired you to work in Maui real estate and why ISIR?

I've always been interested in real estate and my parents always invested in real estate, giving me exposure from a young age. While working with ISIR agents doing transaction management I've grown to love the culture and community of ISIR. The support I've already felt from everyone at ISIR convinces me that I am in the right place.

Where is one place on the island we can find you on the weekend or in your spare time?

We live on 10 acres in Haiku with 2 horses, two dogs and a cat. A lot of my free time is spent here on the property with the animals. If I'm not here I can be found surfing on the west side or getting some sun in Makena or spending time with my special needs sister in Wailuku town.

What should clients know about you?

I have a passion for details and getting things done. I have strong communication skills that exceed my clients expectations. I love being in nature, I love my animals and I love getting to be creative. Most of all I love to help people achieve their goals
