Henry McNamara knows a thing or two about chasing your dreams across the Pacific to live in beautiful Hawaii Nei. Having grown up in Southern California, Henry had also had a taste for the ocean and the nearby Hawaiian islands from a young age. Craving that Maui lifestyle, he moved to Hawaii and met his wife. He now calls Upcountry Maui home and spends his leisure time on the north coast surfing or kitesurfing, golfing, and working in his garden.

Giving back to the place he calls home is always top of mind for Henry. He has worked in the waste management sector and is a certified TRUE Zero Waste Advisor. Henry's commitment to sustainability is demonstrated by his work on numerous trash diversion projects and initiatives, where he collaborated with a variety of local groups on Maui and Oahu.

“Having this experience has helped me realize the importance of sustainable living within communities and the future of the real estate industry. I believe we can all be a part of creating a sustainable future here in Maui.”

Henry has a deep understanding of the culture and people of Hawaii, which he loves to share with all his clients. He believes we can all be a part of creating a sustainable future. Henry is thrilled to service the island in a new way, helping others find their forever home.

What led you to where you are today?

Having grown up in Southern California, I was lucky to be exposed to the rich culture and history of the Hawaiian Islands from a young age. I started surfing when I caught my first wave, in Maui, at four years old. Since then, it was always a dream of mine to move to Hawaii. My dream came to realization when I moved to Oahu to attend the University of Hawaii at Manoa. After graduating, I moved to Upcountry, Maui, where my fiancé was born and raised. I began working in the Waste Management industry with a focus on organic waste conversion and landfill diversion. My prior experience has taught me how sustainability is linked to the environment and the social and economic environment. Having this experience has helped me realize the importance of sustainable living within communities and the future of the real estate industry. I believe we can all be a part of creating a sustainable future here in Maui.

What's your favorite part about living in Maui?

In addition to the diverse ecosystems that offer so much beauty and adventure, my favorite part about living in Maui is the deep-rooted sense of community and culture. I believe Maui has something unique to offer everyone. Whether it is surfing the north shore during peak winter swells, hiking in the lush forests, kite surfing when the wind picks up, or walking one of the many white-sand beaches.

What's one thing you've always wanted to do on Maui but haven't yet?

One thing I have always wanted to do on Maui is Hike the trails in Haleakala National Park and camp out in the historic cabins…

What inspired you to work in Maui real estate, and why ISIR?

Real Estate has always been fascinating to me, I can genuinely say I enjoy what I do and the people I work with. The idea that I will help others own their dream home or even their first home is what has truly inspired me. Having a positive impact on the people and families in our community is what led me to work with ISIR.

Where is one place on the island we can find you on the weekend or in your spare time?

You can find me on the beach, golfing, or hanging out with family and friends. I enjoy surfing or kitesurfing along the north shore, golfing at my favorite course in Pukalani, or working in my garden.

What should clients know about you?

Clients should know I am passionate about everything I do. When it comes to working, I believe it is essential to enjoy what you do. I want clients to know they have not only made the right decision but an informed decision. I genuinely enjoy working with them to reach their goals, whether buying their first home, finding their dream home, or selling their current home.
