To learn more about this world traveler and sales extraordinaire, we asked Roden a few questions to help us get to know him a little better and welcome him into our ohana.

What's your favorite part about living on Maui?

JR: There are so many wonderful reasons to live on Maui that picking one favorite is quite difficult. After extensive travel and living abroad for most of my adult life I have found every place I have lived is unique, especially Maui. As vast as this island is with new trails to explore every week, different forests to discover, new beaches, surf breaks, snorkel spots, excursions, restaurants, and shops, the one thing that stands out the most is the welcoming sense of community. I have been welcomed into a new adventurous life and surrounded myself with interesting, humble individuals who genuinely care about this place we call home, Maui.

What's one thing you've always wanted to do on Maui but haven't yet?

JR: I think there is something new to discover every week. I have made it a point to seek out a new trail or excursion every week and have yet to see them all. The one thing that would probably stand out for most people would be the sunrise from Haleakala. I have hiked the crater and seen the setting sun from the majestic 10,000 foot peak, but I still have yet to see the sun come out from behind the ocean.

What inspired you to work in Maui real estate and why ISIR?

JR: The choice to join Island Sotheby’s was simple and clear. Respect for the community, professionalism for everyone we encounter and vision to be the best we can be.

Where is one place on the island we can find you on the weekend?

JR: I love outdoor activities and adventures, so I like to explore different areas of Maui; there is always something new and exciting to see. When I am staying on the westside you'll probably find me out on the water with my paddle board. I enjoy surfing when there are waves and admiring the aquarium below on glassy calm days.

What should clients know about you?

JR: My ability to build relationships founded on honesty and fairness to promote continued patronage is something that I learned as a young man. I am very professional and detail oriented. I have a genuine interest in providing the best possible service for my clients based on their needs, ideals and interests.
