Kula Country Farms Annual Pumpkin Patch Is Ready For Fall!

Posted by Mapuana Andrade on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021 at 2:37pm

For most, the beginning of October means cooler temperatures, scarves, and beanies being dusted off from our closets, switching from iced coffee to hot and autumn-colored leaves decorating the roads. However, here on the valley isle, we have a different way of celebrating the start of the fall season. Though our sunny beach days may be a tad cooler, there's not much of a difference to notice when living on an island. That is until you head upcountry to Kula Country Farm's annual pumpkin patch.

Since 2011, this fourth-generation, family-run farm has invited people to Maui's favorite patch. Located by the field next to Kula's modest roadside kiosk, this infamous attraction is perfect for tourists, local families, and everyone in between.

When you enter the patch you are greeted by rows of colorful pumpkins, gourds, and the farm itself. Kula Country Farms offers a wide variety of pumpkins in all sizes, colors, and types. Find the perfect pumpkin for carving, adding to your Thanksgiving pie recipe, or adding some Halloween spirit to your home! They also carry ornamental gourds, sunflowers, carving tools, and other fun items to decorate with.

Try out the pumpkin ring toss, get lost in the corn maze, and visit the keiki (children's) section featuring education and activities about Maui's agricultural community. Looking for a quick bite to eat? The farm sells quick snacks during the week, like their famous strawberry lemonade, and even more food on the weekends!

After fully experiencing the pumpkin-filled fields, visitors can also grab some fresh island produce supplied directly from local farmers. Delicious Kula onions, tomatoes, corn, blueberries, and, of course, strawberries are ready for your Thanksgiving feasts!

Before you leave, be sure to take in the crisp, fresh upcountry air, cool mountain temperatures, and a view of central Maui that is sure to amaze. The Kula Country Farms pumpkin patch is surely one of the best ways to kick off the fall season.

(The Kula Country Farms Pumpkin Patch is open for all of October, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The entry fee for October is $5 and free for those 3 & under.)

In accordance with local COVID-19 guidelines, we will be requiring a reservation to enter the pumpkin patch this year. Reservations will be available online through the link below. We are limiting the number of people in the patch and will have a time limit of 1 hour for your visit. If you arrive without a reservation, we will be happy to help you make one at the entrances, if there is space available for that current time slot. We highly recommend making a reservation in advance, as we cannot ensure there will be space available if you do not have a reservation, and we will require a reservation before you or your party are allowed into the patch.
