The most winning doubles team of all time and an Olympics tennis coach descended on the Royal Lahaina Tennis Ranch last week for the High Powered Doubles Camp, one of the most esteemed doubles tennis camps on Maui.

The four-day camp was supported by Island Sotheby’s International Realty’s own Mino McLean R(B), who also participated in the event. Attendees learned strategy and tactics from the former world #1 team, Bob and Mike Bryan, in addition to legendary doubles player/U.S. Davis Cup & Olympics coach Tom Gullikson and a cast of other top-notch doubles coaches.

“It’s a tennis mecca for people who really love doubles,” said Cynthia Neiman, who helped organize the camp.

Participants focused on learning return of serve strategies, effective doubles practice drills and a better tennis mindset on “big points.” The camp also included video analysis of players’ game using Dartfish technology, which enables users to view, edit and analyze videos to examine players’ technique.

“The United States Tennis Association uses a lot of video analysis,” said Neiman. “And we're using the same type of analysis here to see what the players are doing well and what they need work on.”

After working up a sweat during daily drills and playing time with the stellar tennis coaches, participants returned to stunning ocean-view rooms at the Royal Lahaina Resort, which is ranked among the top 100 tennis resorts in the world.  There truly is nothing better than cooling off with the refreshing island breeze or taking a dip in the azure waters at Ka’anapali Beach.
