Island Sotheby's International Realty is proud to announce that Marty Guerriero R(S) has joined the firm's prestigious real estate team.

Marty Guerriero is a longtime Maui resident specializing in South Maui real estate, who is consistently described by clients as hard-working, knowledgeable and patient. At a young age, he became intrigued with design and architecture, which led him to pursue a degree in Architectural Interior Design from San Jose State University. This experience in interior design has proven beneficial to many clients, as he has a knack for spotting opportunities to enhance a property’s value or give you an edge at the negotiation table.

Guerriero prides himself on working hard to get you the best deal possible. We sat down with him to talk about why he chose to join the Island Sotheby's International Realty team:

What's your favorite part about living on Maui?

MG:  Besides Maui’s natural beauty and the wonderful weather year round, the best part about the island is the people. The people on Maui are the nicest, warmest and most welcoming people I have ever met. It’s just a beautiful place to live and call home.

Why did you join the Island Sotheby's International Realty team?

MG:  Island Sotheby’s International Realty is a powerhouse of honesty, integrity and ethics. Even though it’s smaller than some of the island’s other firms, they truly put clients first in all of their decision making. When you meet everyone at the company, including support staff, marketers and company leaders, you realize how much they’re dedicated to upholding the global recognition that comes with the Sotheby’s brand. It was an easy decision to join their team.

What inspired you to work in Maui real estate?

MG:  Although I love architecture, my ultimate goal is to work with clients to find their dream property. People who are moving to Maui aren’t doing it out of necessity; they’re doing it because they’re willing to make sacrifices to move to the island. For me, it’s my mission to make their dreams come true. Through compassion and communication, I strive to make the transaction as smooth as possible so they can move to the next chapter of their life.

What is your favorite part about being a real estate professional?

MG: Because I have a background in both architectural interior design and years of customer service, working as a real estate agent brings together all of my experiences and talents into one career. My eye for for details, space planning and the ability to envision the potential within spaces is a significant part of my work. And when I help my clients, I’m able to utilize years of customer service experience and the values my parents instilled in me when I was a child.

What should clients know about you?

MG:  On my free time, you can find me relaxing on the beach with a Sudoku puzzle or in the water kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding or exploring the ocean on a friend’s boat. I also enjoy playing tennis, walking and trying new restaurants on Maui. Traveling is also a big part of my life, with Italy being one of my favorite destinations.
