Starting October 28, the International Windsurfing Tour will host the annual Aloha Classic at Ho'okipa Beach Park, where riders from across the globe travel for the biggest event of the year. Past champions include legendary names in the sport including Rush Randle and Robby Naish to this year's reigning champions, Morgan Noireaux and Sarah Hauser. Maui's biggest names will also be there, including Kai Lenny, Antoine Martin and Maria Andres.

You can get up close and personal by watching the contest at Ho’okipa Beach Park — or view it from afar from the secluded white-sand beach in front of 131 Aleiki Place — a four-bedroom, five-bathroom beachfront homeOffered at $9.85 million, the beautiful estate is located on the beach, just minutes one of Maui’s most famous windsurfing spots — Ho’okipa.

“You can watch surfers and windsurfers at Ho’okipa from your backyard,” explained Karla Aguera R(S), the Island Sotheby’s International Realty agent who is representing the seller. “And that’s just so rare.”

Aguera, who’s listing the home, is planning to host several open houses and also host private showings as the Aloha Classic is taking place.

Aguera herself is no stranger to windsurfing contests. She and her husband, Alex, were both professional windsurfers and can remember when the Aloha Classic put Maui on the map for the sport in the 1980s.

“It is my heritage,” Aguera explained. “It’s what Alex and I both did.”

And for any avid waterman or woman, the Kuau home that Aguera is listing is a must-see. For surfers, kite boarders or windsurfers, the famous Ho’okipa Beach Park and Kuau Point are merely minutes away. It’s also next door to one of Maui’s most famous restaurant, Mama’s Fish House. And better yet, the white-sand beach in front of the home attracts sea turtles and all sorts of marine life.

“Every morning at the beach, it's like your own little turtle sanctuary,” said Aguera.
