Born and raised on the Island of O'ahu, Patty is a seventh generation kama'aina with over 30 years of Hawai'i real estate experience. For more than three decades, Patty has been focused on the Maui market, where she has become an established Realtor through consistent referrals and a network of repeat clients. A second-generation Hawai'i Realtor, Patty’s earnest work ethic was fostered under the tutelage of her uncle, the late Aaron M. Chaney of Chaney, Brooks & Company. Patty perpetuates his motto: “Work with integrity, respect others, know your market and express your gratitude by giving back to your community.” These foundational ideals are central to Patty’s distinguished status in the industry, respected by both her clients and peers for her attention to detail, accomplished negotiating skills, and honest nature.
After earning a BFA in Fine Arts and Certificate as an Elementary Educator from Gonzaga University, Patty settled in nearby Seattle to focus on her artistic endeavors and teaching. When she found herself longing for her family, the ocean, and lifestyle of her island home, Patty returned to Hawaiʻi and obtained her real estate license in 1986 and Broker’s license in 1989. In contrast to the crowded environment of O'ahu, Patty was drawn to the expansive countryside and idyllic shorelines that define Maui. She made her home Upcountry near Makawao Town, where she continues to enjoy the rural surroundings and optimal climate for growing fruits and vegetables.
Since 2007, Patty has proudly worked alongside the reputable real estate professionals of Island Sotheby’s International Realty, providing savvy and trustworthy guidance. Having bought and sold a number of properties herself, Patty’s clients recognize her intimate understanding of their positions as buyers and sellers. Patty offers her keen local knowledge, ability to think creatively, and devotion to her clients—throughout transactions, and beyond.
In her free time, Patty can be found with her easel painting “en plein air”, hiking, catching waves in a canoe or on her paddleboard or her hands in her soil.
