Believe it or not, there are parts of Maui’s beauty that are still undiscovered gems. Beyond the towering waterfalls, sweeping cliffsides, and warm shorelines lies even more than meets the eye. You might be surprised to discover that one of the most abundant communities of local farmers lies right in our backyard! From vibrant green vegetables, tropical fruits that are dripping in flavor, and grass-fed rich in flavor meats, Maui farms have it all. Today, we’ve gathered our most favored way to experience all of this fresh farm goodness in one place. Maui farmers markets. What better way to feed your ohana, take back the freshest souvenirs, or maybe just experience something new on the island? Experience farm fresh food and goodies that were probably grown and prepped less than 20 miles from where you can purchase it for your kitchen.

Maui’s farmers market scene is famous for its diversity, boasting everything from homemade mango bread, cheeses, jams and jellies, roasted meats to fresh seafood, and guava butter. There is nothing more delicious than indulging in the rich and ripe dishes that keep Maui’s farms sustainable. With farmer's markets all over the island to choose from, you are destined to find yourself becoming a “regular” at one soon.

Right across Kahului harbor, Maui Swap Meet is decorated with beautiful crafts and local artwork that complement the ono produce you’ll find along the way. Tucked in Wailuku, Kumu Farms is famous for their sweet and tender papayas that make any weekend trip completely worth it. Queen Ka’ahumanu is a one-stop-shop for all your weekend shopping needs including locally grown produce like melons, lychee, countless avocados, and rich berries. On the south side, Kihei farmer’s market has their show-stopping lilikoi's, freshly made pineapple salsa, guacamole, and “Maui famous” papaya seed dressing. Even all the way in East Maui lies Hana Fresh Farm Stand that has people from all over the world stopping for their locally made breakfast menu, fresh fruit smoothies, plethora of herbs, Maui coffee, and more.

Needless to say, Maui has more to see and taste than we can experience in a lifetime. On your next trip to Maui, check out these booming farmer's markets and experience Maui’s fresh local produce at the tip of your fingers.
