There are few places in this world where a person can surf in the morning and hike a beautiful forest or a volcano's crater in the afternoon. 

When Indie is not walking her clients through open houses and crafting their dream future with them, you can find her hard at work in the kitchen cooking up sweets, baking sourdough bread, brewing ginger beer, and pickling every vegetable she finds.

What led you to where you are today?

Forming relationships has been a pillar of enjoyment throughout my life. I was born in Haiku and spent my formative years Upcountry on Maui. I graduated from college in Virginia with a Bachelor's Degree in Tourism and Hospitality. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to do with my degree. But, I knew I wanted to travel, make a good living, and work with the public.

I worked many late nights in the service industry throughout college to save up funds to travel. I researched how to safely travel the world for an extended period on a budget as a solo young woman. Unexpectedly, I fell in love with a wonderful navy sailor. Fortunately, he was very supportive of my travel dreams and encouraged my adventure while he was on deployment. Traveling for seven months visiting four countries was a dream come true. 

While enjoying India, COVID put a halt to my extended travel itinerary. After my partner completed his military service, we decided to move to Maui, settle permanently among family and friends, and start a real estate career. 

What's your favorite part about living in Maui?

The closeness to nature, the perfect weather, and the gentleness of the island. There are few places in this world where a person can surf in the morning and hike a beautiful forest or a volcano's crater in the afternoon. People are tolerant of one another, kind, and open to new ideas. I love that we have various unique home styles, allowing people to find what suits them without feeling constrained.

What's one thing you've always wanted to do on Maui but haven't yet?

I want to backpack through the crater at Haleakala National Park. Sleeping under the open sky and watching the millions of stars above is at the top of my Maui list. Technically, I have done this hike, but I was only three months old and carried on my father's back, so I'm not sure if that counts. 

What inspired you to work in Maui real estate? 

I genuinely believe that Maui is one of the best places to live. Island Sotheby's International Realty's core values of Pono, Kuleana, and Aloha ring loud and true to me. Their reputation of integrity and community drew me to work under the Island Sotheby's name. Maui is the place I call home, and it's an honor to assist community members find a place here as well. 

Where is one place on the island we can find you on the weekend or in your spare time?

In my spare time, I can be found enjoying nature or experimenting in the kitchen. I love hiking, playing tennis, yoga, and reading a good book alongside my pup. Baking sweets and sourdough bread, brewing ginger beer and pickling every vegetable I can get my hands on are experiments my friends and family are very fond of.

I have a sincere desire to do all I can to help you achieve your Maui Real Estate dreams. Having lived in Maui as a child and now as an adult, I greatly appreciate and know the island. I take my job very seriously and strive to make the real estate process pleasurable, valuable, and stress-free.
