What led you to where you are today?

GT: I am wise enough to know a good thing when I see it.  In the summer of 2010, while interviewing with Paul MacLaughlin over a delicious Vietnamese lunch, he shared his vision for Island Sotheby's International Realty, I immediately knew that I wanted to work for him or as he says, "with him".  I was willing to start as a receptionist and office clerk to be able to grow with Paul and his company. Today, I'm not only a realtor with this company, but I’m also a partner, fortunate enough to work with other professionals in this industry. I brought my 10 years experience as an Escrow Officer and many more years of coordination and support for major companies on the mainland and helped Paul grow the company into what it is today.

What's your favorite part about living on Maui?

GT: Ohana - I've lived in the mainland for 16 years prior to moving home. I had two goals after graduating from Gonzaga University.  My first goal was to get as much experience as I could on the mainland, move home to Maui, and share what I've learned. The other was to move home to be close to family. After living in the mainland for 16 years, there was nothing more comforting than to be on Maui surrounded by Ohana.

What's one thing you've always wanted to do on Maui but haven't yet?

GT: Zipline! I want to conquer my fear of heights and enjoy the feeling of flying.  Is it even possible to experience fear and joy simultaneously?

What inspired you to work in Maui real estate and why ISIR?

GT: Honestly, the pandemic was a big part of my decision to get my license and become a realtor. It afforded me space to think about my next growth step of helping people through a real estate transaction during these times. I work with some of the most compassionate realtors on the island who uphold a standard that is professional and caring at Island Sotheby's Int'l Realty.  Island Sotheby's Int'l Realty is a trusted brand and it matches my desire to be a trusted real estate advisor.

Where is one place on the island we can find you on the weekend or in your spare time?

GT: On our Lilikoi Farm with my husband Joey and doggie Kuma. There is something to be said about getting your hands dirty and witnessing something grow from the ground that provides happiness to many.  Every Christmas for the past two years we provide gifts to our family and friends that are infused with Lilikoi.  This year we're doing Lilikoi Pickled Maui Onions!

What should clients know about you?

GT: That I am a person who helps people take big steps through the most challenging times and figure out how to get through that with the best possible outcome.
